The leading chain of coffee houses has "make it yourself" mugs, but they are cheaply made out of plastic and offer hardly any insulation to keep your coffee hot or your cold drink cold. The Zojiurushi D-mug is a very upscale version of those mugs. Incredibly well made with a complete stainless steel wall both inside and out, offering superb insulation. Over that is the plastic sleeve, which never comes into contact with your drink, behind which you can put graphics of your choice, pictures, or funny drawings. My only negative is that it is lined with Teflon, as are all Zojirushi products. I would much prefer it to be nothing but stainless steel inside because Teflon has raised some health concerns, although at higher temps than are likely to be used in this mug.
