I purchased it 2 months back .........just within 10 days its nonstick coating came out.
I thought 6cup rice cooker means less rice and less time but here is the catch the time for cooking is proportional to the base of the container .rival 6cup base is very small and it almost takes 40 minutes to cook just 11/2 cups of rice .
It says 6cup but it is not...as per the instructions if u put 3cup of rice and 6 cup of water in it the lid of the bowl rises up ,rice gets a dome shape and it will be very tough for you to serve .

(More customer reviews)This rice cooker is one of the crappiest I've seen. As the previous review states, rice always sticks to the bottom and turns yellow. On top of that, It sprays watery goo everywhere through the vent in the cover. Even after following the directions to a T (and making some adjustments of my own to try to fix the issue), I still end up with a sticky counter. I ended up just going back to a regular pot again. Definitely a waste of money.

(More customer reviews)I'm new to this type rice cooker. I over-research everything I buy and this was no exception. I was looking pretty hard at the Zojirushi brand when I came across references the Cuckoo brand and how more Asians tend to choose it over Zojirushi. There were few reviews, all spoke to how well it cooked rice though there were a few complaints about the lack of English in the instructions and cooking guide as well as the fact it speaks to you in Korean. One review on Amazon gave it one star because it wasn't an IH model so they sent it back.

The way I looked at it was that if there were language issues I could get past them with a little trial, error and language conversion software, which I didn't need by the way. What really swayed me, however, was if it's good enough for most Asians, who really know their rice, then it was going to be my brand as well.
I can tell you that the instructions come in both English and Korean. They aren't the most clear, however, I was able to cook my first batch of brown rice within minutes of opening the box and it came out perfect. The cooking guide is totally Korean, however, I am hopeful that the folks at Cuckoo will answer my request to convert it to English. If they don't, I'm still really happy with this product.
It cleans up easy, it looks nice, it uses fuzzy logic, the cooking pan is non-stick, the controls are intuitive, it is GABA capable, it's a pressure cooker so you can cook anything in it...even cake...most importantly it does a wonderful attention free job of cooking rice, just set it and forget it. My kids really get a kick out of the Korean woman's voice when it talks to me too, I tell them she is complimenting me.

It boils water quickly , the water level is easy to see and has the auto-shut off feature. I have used it reliably to boil water for tea, oatmeal etc. The water is quite hot, so use caution when pouring it out. The lid , can sometimes be hard to close & open.

The handles make it very easy to carry, especially when the pot is full, and the secured lid is wonderful - no spills or losing of the lid while in transport! Something that one should know if purchasing this product is that the handles do get warm.
If you're one that does the potluck dinners, then this is a good traveling pot. It is not as awkward to carry, especially when it has food in it (as apposed to the other crock pots, where your knuckles brush against the side and you get burned while carrying it).
Personally I can only find one fault with this product and that is with the handles getting warm, but if I can carry/hold it for about 5 mins. without dropping it or setting it down, then it's not all that bad.
I bought mine at a store, so the price was under $30. Needless to say, I'm pleased with this product.

This model has a quick cooking feature which I use a lot, it is so convenient, it cooks the rice quickly and beautifully and beeps to let you know when it is done. When the rice finishes cooking the machine turns itself to the warming mode and simply keeps the rice warm and ready to serve. I finally have the perfect rice which most restaraunts can not hold a candle to.
I like jasmine, sticky and plain white rice and they all cook great in here, I have also cooked rice for sushi and made puerto rican arroz con gandules in here, all were done perfect!

(More customer reviews)I am pretty new to the re-furb world, and honestly bought this as an "extra" as I misplaced the "cup" from an original that I purchased from a leading television shopping network. When I had called WP the cost to buy and send another cup exceeded the price of this.
Just a guess, but I wonder if this might be an overstock. If it is a return, it certainly looks new when you open it. REALLY. I think the shopping network may have put the brown box in another box ( and charged shipping..), but otherwise, this is the SAME as what I bought over a year ago.
Shipping was OUTSTANDING, and super-fast. This was an impossible to find item, and AMAZON came through like a champion, offering this vendor. 99% of the time, I tend to buy in-stock Amazon items, as they have most everything. What a nice experience to find an out-of-production item from a trusted Amazon partner!
The product itself is sensational, perfect for singles, seniors, or a two-person family. The bigger rice-cookers are nice, but make a LOT of rice - this one is perfect!

We have thrown every type of oats, grits, brown rice, brown rice/lentil medley, non-gluten cereal, Wheatena in this pot with the right amount of water from the package directions on the rice setting. It makes a perfect porridge every time without burning. You can even set it to have it ready for breakfast when you wake up in the morning.

(More customer reviews)I'm thinking that the negative review on this product MUST be because they have something wrong with their microwave. Maybe they have it set too high. You have to lower the power to 50% to cook the rice, so maybe they forgot to do that.
As for me - I will NEVER cook rice any other way again! I cook rice all the time for my family. I use brown rice in 70% of my dishes. I have a rice cooker (a good one) and I also cook it stove top.
First of all, a rice cooker is one more appliance that I'd rather not own taking up space. Also, it has to sit out on the counter to cook the rice, which poses a problem if you have limited space and need to cook the rest of your meal. I have always had a problem with the electric rice cookers spitting water out and making a watery and crusty mess by the end of the cooking process. They are just a pain in my opinion.
As for stove top - you all know how much of a mess THIS can make, and unless you have SUPER cookware, it never comes out quite right.
Now for the Pampered Chef rice cooker. We are currently staying with a friend while our new house is being done. I went to make rice one night and my friend offered to let me use her P.C. rice cooker. I was skeptical to say the least. I mean, come on - in the microwave? In plastic? It certainly can't be any good - especially for brown rice. I am so glad to say that I was so wrong! It cooked rice like a dream!
First, you put a 2:1 ratio water to rice in the cooker. Seal it up and put it in the micro on HIGH for 5 minutes. THEN you power it down to 50% and cook for 20-40 minutes depending on the type of rice you are using (standard time for any cooker). I have used this over and over and have not had one problem. the rice comes out better than you could imagine! Especially if you use broth instead of water. Clean up is a BREEZE with this. the rice does NOT stick to the bottom (like my pans and rice cooker does) and rinses out so easily. AND it's dishwasher safe! Seriously, what more could you want??? This product is amazing and Pampered Chef stands behind their products so you have nothing to lose!

I don't think you can find another company out there who gets 5 star reviews an everything they make for your kitchen. Very high end appliances at affordable prices, check them out yourself. This cooker will cook 27 cups (thier cup which is about 3/4 cup USA measurements) even though the box says 10 cups (that is uncooked rice). It works flawlessly, is high quality, and has 2 stackable stainless steel (not plastic) steamer trays. This was a big deciding feature for me! You will not be disappointed in this purchase. I bought it at Bed Bath & Beyond because I always get those 20% off coupons on the mail, $51.70 final price. I WILL be buying Breville products in the future like thier WOK and indoor grill, also 5 star rated and now I know why! If you've been on the fence with buying a rice cooker don't wait another minute buy this one today!

VitaClay 2-in-1 Rice ‘N Slow Cooker Review

One of a kind
When you prime this (similar to a Cast Iron Skillet) it adds a rich flavor you can only get from the old clay pot cooking. It is more savory than Stainless Steel, (but I have both and love both) and the more you use it the better it gets. I love cooking brown rice and beans at the same time. Replace vege/or chicken stock for water, or put in a saffron water with the rice.

It take about 3-5 times cooking for the priming to settle in, and then it is very consistent (that is the nature of clay pots).
It is really unique and it's great.

(More customer reviews)After a couple of attempts to get one that actually works (not from Amazon), we've given up. The first one we got never bothered to stop the cooking process until the lever was forced up. The rice burned every time. Returned. The button on the second one we got never wanted to stay down and cook. Returned. The same with the third attempt... ugh!! We're just using it temporarily now until we find a better model. We use scotch tape to hold down the lever to cook it and use an egg timer to estimate the cooking time. What a waste of time, effort, and money. Very disappointed since I've always thought of Oster as a good brand name kitchen product. Wish I could give it zero stars. :(
